American School of Jewelry Advanced Dia Setting Marquise Ring


In order to take this class you are required to complete the basic stone setting class or have experience with multiple prong setting styles.

Basic review of general stone setting techniques

Channel setting of round and baguette stones
Setting of round and baguette stones

Hammer setting
Setting of round stones in heavy prongs

Complex burnishing
Burnishing tools, exercises with round and fancy shaped stones.

Tools for pave and bead stone setting
Preparation of tools for bead setting. Sharpening of gravers.
Design and layout. Techniques explained and practiced.

Pave and Bead Setting
Four bead pave and two bead pave setting explained and practiced. Bright cutting straight and curved lines. Single row bead setting and plate paving.
